With Duncan Aviation of Lincoln, Nebraska celebrating the 25th anniversary of
its first avionics shop, aircraft transaction expert Rene Cardona, of Lincoln,
Nebraska, looks back on how the whole ‘satellite’ idea came about: a pair of
shoes.
Well, it was more than a pair of shoes, admits Rene Cardona from the Duncan
Aviation offices in Lincoln, Nebraska. According to
Rene Cardona, a friend of
the Duncan Aviation CEO happened to be in the shoe business, owning several
small shoes stores that were located within larger department stores. The
expertise of the shoe-store owner and his staff was of great help to shoe
customers, says Rene Cardona, and the idea of providing expert assistance
through smaller outlets came into being.
Rene Cardona goes on to say that Duncan Aviation, with its avionics capabilities
centered in Lincoln, Nebraska, first partnered with Beckett Aviation in Houston,
Chicago and White Plains. According to
Rene Cardona, the pattern of joining
forces with prominent fixed base operations outside of Lincoln, Nebraska has
been growing ever since. The satellite facilities, continues Rene Cardona, are
located at airports nearby the full-service locations and are greatly enhanced
by teams of engine experts called Rapid Response Teams.
Duncan Aviation is still expanding from its two complete service facilities, one
of which is located in Lincoln, Nebraska where Rene Cardona is based. For
example, says Rene Cardona, joining the more than 20 satellite avionics shops
around the country is Volo Aviation in Stratford, Connecticut. From where he
sits in Lincoln, Nebraska, Rene Cardona can literally map out how Duncan
Aviation is meeting customer maintenance needs across the nation.
